Each year, CHC residents and residents and staff from our remotely hosted partner organizations gather at CHC in Middletown, Connecticut for an intense and exciting orientation experience to kick off the residency year.
Orientation starts on the second Monday in September and lasts for 3-4 days.
The orientation program includes a wide range of activities and didactics including but not limited to:
- Orientation to CHC and Partner Health Centers
- Introduction to Chronic Pain Management
- Interviewing and History Taking
- Working with Key Populations
- Lab Values
- EKG Interpretation
- Professional Development
- Nexplanon Certification
- Hands-on Procedures Training
- Social Events
What to Bring
We encourage you to bring layers of clothing as the weather in Connecticut can be unpredictable! September temperatures range from low 50s to high 70s.
We also encourage you to bring sneakers and athletic attire if you enjoy exercise. There is a gym at CHC of Middletown and Middletown is a very walkable city when the weather permits.
